Creating A Productive Work Space, At Home
Working from home is an incredible opportunity, and it is so cool that so many women across America are making this happen. Working from home has its challenges though. The hardest challenge is creating a space that limits the distractions that come from being at home. You need a work space that keeps you focused and inspires you! Here are some tips to create your perfect work space, at home –
Tip #1 Choose a DEDICATED work space
This is the most important tip. If you are working from home, creating a dedicated workspace is the first thing you need to do. The couch, kitchen, or dining room table are NOT conducive work spaces! It’s harder to stay focused without a dedicated space, which makes completing your work difficult.
If you have the space, I would suggest creating an actual office for yourself. This isn’t the case for everyone though, so if you have a small area to work with then get creative! A small desk in a lightly used area would work just fine! Creating this work space will help you stay focused!
Tip #2 Limit Distractions
If you can, put your work space in a quieter area of the home. Also, try to work when the house is quieter. I know for many work at home moms this can be a challenging task – is it possible to get the majority of your work done during nap time? If you have a late-riser, can you work earlier in the morning? Limiting your distractions will help you to get more work done, faster.
Tip #3 Make it YOU!
Add items to your workspace that make you happy! Paint your office a fun and motivating color! If you love plants, add some cute succulents to make the work space more inviting! What do you need for work? Set yourself up for success and grab any office supplies that you might need.
Like I said earlier, working from home is an incredible opportunity. Set yourself up for success by creating a fabulous, dedicated work space that limits distractions, keeps you focused, and makes you inspired to be there!
