10 Things To Put You In A Positive Mindset

There’s a lot going on in the world right now. A lot of uncertainty, fear, and negativity. Right now, more than ever, it is so important to stay in a positive mindset.

Being in a positive head-space doesn’t just affect you, it effects those around you as well. For me, being positive effects my husband, my kids, and my team. When I am positive, it reaches those people and helps them be more positive too! Think what we could do as a whole, if we all just focused a little more at being positive each day! I also find that when I am in a positive mindset, I accomplish so much more – in my personal life and in my business!

Here are 10 things that help me stay, or get into, a positive mindset!

10 Things To Put You In A Positive Mindset

  1. “I am…” Statements & Affirmations – Saying “I Am..” Statements is an incredible tool to build a positive mindset and to keep one! Say a few as soon as you wake up in the morning, or write a list of them in a journal. Put them on sticky notes and leave them around your house. Leave a note on the bathroom mirror that says “I am Beautiful” or “I am Worthy”. Put several affirmations around your desk – “I am Creative”, “You’ve Got This”, “You’re doing incredible things” are all great ones! Make them yours!
  2. Personal Development – Reading or listening to a little bit of personal development each day is so important for entrepreneurs! My favorite thing to do is play an audio book through Audible while I’m doing mindless activities – like laundry or cleaning! I even listen to some books and podcasts in the car.
  3. Play Music – Need a quick mood boost? Turn on your favorite song! Create a playlist on your phone that is happy and energizing! Press play whenever you need an instant pick me up – a mini dance party does wonders too!
  4. Get Your Body Moving – Exercise boosts endorphins! And the great thing is there are so many options! Go for a walk, do some yoga, workout, or have a dance party! Even playing with the kids counts! Just get your body moving, and those endorphins flowing!
  5. Turn Off The News – While it’s important to know what is going on in the world around us, when we are bombarded by bad news it’s hard to remain positive. Focusing on the negative stories and watching them all day long can really mess with our mindset! If you’re struggling to maintain a positive head-space, turn the news off for a bit.
  6. Fresh Air & Sunshine – This is SO important! Open a window, grab the mail, or sit outside for a little bit. Fresh air and sunshine do wonders to soothe the soul!
  7. Take A Social Media Break – Just like the news, social media can be bad for us too. Facebook, and especially Instagram, are highlight reels. Too much mindless scrolling can mess with our heads, it easily creates negativity and self esteem issues. Limit your scrolls to a set amount of time per day or take a social media hiatus.
  8. Make A List of What You are Grateful For – I love this activity! One way to really make this one stick and work is to write out 3 things you are grateful for, everyday, for 21 days. It creates a habit of focusing on positivity! Give it a try!
  9. Focus On What You Can Control – Have you heard the saying control the controllable? So often we worry about all the things that are beyond our control, we then become overwhelmed and anxious. To stay in a positive place, shift your focus to what you can control and what you can change. If it’s not in your control, let it go.
  10. Practice Self Care – Self Care isn’t just bubble baths and face masks. All of the above can be self care! But sometimes that bubble bath is needed! Focus on all of the above, and then spend ten minutes giving yourself a new manicure (Get in touch with me for DRY Nail Polish!), or put on a face mask. You can’t pour from an empty cup – spend a little time each day on YOU!
